For years, Lukas Hofer was considered the best biathlete in Italy and one of the Azzurri's great medal hopes at the World Championships in Oberhof, which begins next week. But the Montaler hasn't competed in a biathlon race for ten months. A persistent tendonitis in his shin has kept him out of action since the start of the season, but “Luki” is now training again and is working meticulously towards his comeback. He is aiming for this at the IBU Cup in Obertilliach at the weekend and wants to jump on the World Cup train there - but not at any price, as he told us during a training visit to Ridnaun Valley.
