A direct hit in love: there's a buzz in the biathlon circus

Lena Häcki is currently one of the best biathletes in Switzerland. Now the 25-year-old is also happy in her private life: The Swiss is engaged to her long-time boyfriend Marco Groß - also a biathlete and the son of the former world-class ski hunter Ricco Groß.

“I said yes,” she wrote on social media. In the Swiss magazines She also revealed some details. Groß, who lives in Ruhpolding, made the proposal to his girlfriend in the presence of both families in Engelberg. “Marco disguised it as his birthday party and brought us all together,” explains Häcki. Sporty and private at the heights The two met in 2014 at the Junior World Championships in the USA. Although it cracked, they initially didn't want to have a relationship because of the constant distance. “But then we both realized that we couldn’t forget each other and gave each other a chance.” Now, 6 years later, the two of them got engaged. When is the wedding taking place? “Maybe in spring 2022,” says Häcki.

The Swiss is one of the high-flyers in the Swiss team. Last year she took third place in the pursuit of Annecy and thus the first podium finish of her career. She also made it to the podium several times in the relay. Groß, on the other hand, is mainly used in the IBU Cup.
