Wierer and Hofer cannot be beaten in summer outfits

Concrete instead of snow, roller skis instead of cross-country skis, short outfits instead of full-body gear: at first glance, a summer biathlon competition looks quite unusual. Nevertheless, the races are still going strong. The mass start took place on Friday in Forni Avoltri (Friuli Venezia Giulia). In the end, two South Tyroleans prevailed. Lukas Hofer was unbeatable in the men's race. Despite two missed shots, he gained a lead of 19,2 seconds over second-placed Giuseppe Montello. Dominik Windisch came third with three errors, 1.02 minutes behind.

In the women's field, however, Dorothea Wierer was unbeatable - even though she had three missed shots at the shooting range. Lisa Vittozzi came in second with four penalties, 33,4 seconds behind, while Japan's Fuyuko Tachizaki took third. Irene Lardschneider and Federica Sanfilipo took 6th and 8th place.
