Windisch misses a podium place

After a disappointing home World Cup in Antholz, Dominik Windisch is clearly on the upward trend, that much is certain. This meant that the top three were out of reach for him, as after his two penalties he had to join the field in ninth place. That was his end result. This is Windisch's third top ten placement this winter; he previously finished seventh in two sprints. Bø cannot be stopped In the end, the podium places were decided among other biathletes. For a long time it seemed as if Emilien Jacquelin, who made no mistakes at the shooting range, could run to victory. But then Johannes Thingnes Bø came up again, who had temporarily fallen far behind after three penalties, but then made up position after position. On the last lap, the mass start world champion from Antholz intercepted the Frenchman and secured victory. Bø has won every race since the title fights in South Tyrol, whether individually or in a team. Behind Jacquelin, the German Arnd Peiffer secured third place. Lukas Hofer, on the other hand, had to be content with 29th place. He missed the target eight times at the shooting range. The world's best biathletes are now moving to Kontiolahti in Finland, where the penultimate World Cup stage will take place from Thursday.
