Cross-country skiers return to snow

The cross-country skiers have been in Ramsau am Dachstein (Styria) for a week. Stefan Zelger & Co. trained there on snow for the first time in a long time. Sprint star Pellegrino also posted a video of his return to the track via Instagram.

While the Azzurri in Ramsau mostly train on snow in the morning, the focus in the afternoon is on tests on the athletics track and on the roller skis. For Stefan Zelger from Bolzano, it is important to build on last season's performance this year. He was able to record his best individual result with 16th place in Cogne (over 15 classic). The 24-year-old also came 29th in the sprint at the World Championships in Seefeld.

Last winter, Federico Pellegrino was also responsible for the brilliant performances in the Italian cross-country skiing team, who was able to take home two World Cup victories, and there was even an Italian double victory in the sprint in Cogne (Aosta) thanks to Pellegrino and Francesco De Fabiani. The 29-year-old also won silver in the sprint at the World Championships in Seefeld (behind the almost unbeatable Johannes Høsflot Klæbo) and bronze in the team sprint together with De Fabiani. The new World Cup season begins for cross-country skiers on November 29th in Ruka (Finland). Also biathletes in Ramsau Some biathletes such as Lukas Hofer, Dorothea Wierer and Lisa Vittozzi are currently guests in Ramsau. They will stay there with the coaching staff around Andreas Zingerle until October 11th. Dominik Windisch, Patrick Braunhofer and Federica Sanfilippo, on the other hand, are currently preparing for the coming World Cup season with the coaching team led by Klaus Höllrigl in Oberhof. This starts on November 30th in Östersund, Sweden.

Cross-country skiers return to snow

Italy's national cross-country skiing team is currently preparing for the 2019/20 World Cup season in Austria. The biathletes are also currently in the middle of preparation.
