The Ritten ice ring is glowing

The Italian Junior Sprint Speed Skating Championships with mass start took place this weekend at the ice ring in the Ritten Arena.

Despite the most adverse weather conditions (especially on Saturday with heavy and persistent snowfall), the organizers from the Ritten Sport ASV - Speed Skating Section were able to create good conditions and guarantee that the race ran smoothly. The 120 athletes from all over Italy then fought an exciting race for the various Italian championship titles.

What is particularly noteworthy from a South Tyrolean perspective is Maybritt Vigl's Cat A (U19) Italian championship title, who was also the winner of the mass start, and Noah Campion's third place in the mass start. The coach Nicola Mayr is quite satisfied with these placements and several top ten results, although a bit bitter about some 4th places that narrowly missed out on the podium.

Pointed to: Noah Campion.

The renowned 42nd International Junior Meeting is on the program next weekend. Around 200 athletes from 8 nations will take part.
