Japanese Takagi Junior World Champion with a world record
The Japanese Miho Tagaki is the big star of the Junior World Speed Skating Championships in Klobenstein. The 18-year-old from Obihiro, who won gold in the 1500 m on Friday, also secured the coveted title in the all-around today and even set a new junior world record on the outdoor track. Takagi achieved a total of 163.298 points and beat the old record set by Czech Karolina Erbanova, who also set the record in Klobenstein, by over two points. Tagaki also won two silver medals today in the 1000 and 3000 m.
