Junior World Championships in Klobenstein: Japanese Takagi wins first title
The Japanese Miho Takagi won the first title at the Junior World Speed Skating Championships on Friday on the Rittner Eisrung. The 18-year-old from Obihiro prevailed over 1500 m ahead of the Swiss Kaitlyn McGregor and the Dutch Antoinette de Jong. Takagi started the race as one of the top favorites because she is the reigning junior world champion in the all-around and has already won Olympic silver in the team pursuit in Vancouver in 2010.
