Two ice racers from Eastern Europe triumph in Klobenstein
For the first time in speed skating history, both European all-around titles went to two athletes from Eastern Europe. The Russian long-distance specialist Iwan Skobrew (27), who won silver in the 10.000 meters and bronze in the 5000 meters at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, secured his first European all-around title in Klobenstein. The Czech Martina Sàblikovà (23) was able to successfully defend her European Championship title in Klobenstein. After 2007 and 2010, she became European all-around champion for the third time.
