North Americans dominate qualifications on the Seiser Alm

In the women's qualification, the athletes from Canada set the tone. With the day's highest score of 88.25 points, Brooke Voigt qualified directly for the final ahead of her teammate Jasmin Baird. Also there are the two Swiss women, Isabel Derungs and Sina Candrian, who have been using the snow park on the Seiser Alm for training for years. Completing the final are Emmi Parkkisenniemi (FIN) and Nadja Flemming (GER), who qualified for a slopestyle final for the first time. They will fight for the podium and the trophy in the shape of a witch's broom on Saturday at the foot of the Laurin lift.

There were 55 freestylers at the start for the men. In three heats (groups), the best two qualify directly for the final on Saturday. A total of 12 athletes take the detour via the semi-finals, who then fight for the last four final places. The “Azzurri” Emil Zulian and Alberto Maffei are also in the semi-finals. The winners of the individual heats are Ryan Stassel (USA), Nevakivi Aleksi (FIN) and Farrell Lyon (USA), who achieved the best result with 91.00 points.

On Friday the freeskiers will go into qualification with local hero Silvia Bertagna from 10.15:XNUMX a.m. “We would like to invite everyone once again to watch this freestyle festival live on site, even on the qualifying days,” says OK boss Moritz Gruber. The World Cup on the Seiser Alm is the only Slopestyle World Cup in Italy.
