Ragettli and Burmansson get the crystal balls on the Seiser Alm

In the men's category, the crystal ball went to the Swiss freestyle ace Andri Ragettli, who was only beaten by the US boy Nick Göpper on the Seiser Alm. He celebrated his third win of the season on the South Tyrolean plateau. James Woods from Great Britain came third.

In the women's category, the winner also came from North America: Caroline Claire was better than the entire competition in the final and relegated the British Isabel Atkin and Yuki Tsubota from Japan to second and third place. The Swede Jennie Burmansson, however, was named the new overall World Cup winner.

However, the greatest attention on the Alpe di Siusi was enjoyed by Ralph Welponer, who was the only South Tyrolean to make it to the final. Christoph Schenk and Silvia Bertagna were already eliminated in qualifying . Welponer wanted to be on the podium for the first time in his career at his home race. The omens were quite promising after sixth place in qualifying, but he couldn't cope with the soft snow in the two final runs and had to settle for 13th place in the end.

Premiere winner in snowboarding The competition day on the Alpe di Siusi began early in the morning with the final in the freestyle snowboard. The Russian Sofya Fedorova won big here: she won her first World Cup race and also took the overall victory. On top of that, she is the first Russian woman to score a shot in slopestyle.

In the afternoon, Simon Gruber, a South Tyrolean rider from Auria, was also in action. However, coming in 52nd, he missed qualifying for the grand final, which begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The qualifying winners Chris Corning and Lyon Farrell are the favorites to start the race.

In wonderful conditions, the slopestylers crowned the 2017/18 World Cup overall winners on Friday under the Sciliar. A South Tyrolean also took part in the grand finale.
