Ralph Welponer delights audiences in Modena

The freestyler from Ortisei clearly felt comfortable in the qualification, with 83 points he was the only Azzurro to qualify for the final on Sunday evening. The Gardena Rene Monteleone and Simon Leitner (World Cup debut) from Palatinate, however, missed the final.

But in the final of the top 10, Welponer couldn't match his qualifying performance; with 66,25 and 39 points, the Val Gardena native had to settle for 10th place in the end.

Victory went to Alexander Hall (USA), narrowly ahead of Birk Ruud from Norway and Andri Ragettli from Switzerland. The dominators of the qualification, Henrik Harlaut (SWE) and Lukas Müllauer (AUT), landed in 4th and 8th place.

In the women's category, Switzerland celebrated a double victory: Mathilde Gremaud (178,00 points) won ahead of her teammate Giulia Tanno (159,50) and Dara Howell from Canada. Val Gardena's Silvia Bertagna was unable to qualify for the final of the top 6.
