50 km: Russian quadruple victory on Holmenkollen

After four silver medals at the World Championships on Saturday, Alexander Bolshunov won over 50 km in the classic technique in the finish sprint ahead of Maxim Maxim Vylegzhanin, Andrey Larkov and Ilia Semikov. Bolshunov became the youngest winner in the history of the 1898 km race, which was first held in 50.

The Russian (1230 points) also took over the overall World Cup lead from Johannes Høsflot Klæbo (1181 points), who only finished in 38th place. The best of the Norwegians, who were still dominant at the World Cup, was Martin Johnsrud Sundby in sixth place in front of the home crowd.
