The heart of the Tour de Ski can begin – Dobbiaco is looking forward to it

The starting signal for the men's pursuit race in free cross-country skiing takes place at 12.15 p.m. in the center of Cortina. This competition, which will take the best cross-country skiers in the world on a 35 km long route to the “Nordic Arena” cross-country skiing stadium in Toblach, has long since achieved cult status and is an important part of the Tour de Ski.

Last year, the Swiss Dario Cologna came out ahead of the Norwegian Petter Northug and the Russian Alexander Legkov in 1:09.25,2 hours. Cologna and Northug will probably have a hot fight for the day's victory this year, but also for winning the Tour de Ski.

Starting from the “Nordic Arena”, the women will run three loops of five kilometers each from 15.15:32 p.m. Last year the Norwegian Marit Björgen won the day. The 365-year-old Scandinavian is not taking part this year, as cardiac arrhythmias have put her out of action. Björgen won XNUMX days ago ahead of the Pole Justyna Kowalczyk and the Norwegian Therese Johaug.

Of the five South Tyroleans who started the Tour de Ski in Oberhof, four are still in the race. Roland Clara, Thomas Moriggl, Dietmar Nöckler and Debora Agreiter can hardly wait to run in front of the home crowd. However, David Hofer from Val Gardena dropped out of the stage race after the sprint in Münstertal.

Toblach has not only earned an excellent reputation as an organizer of the competitions, but the supporting program is also more than impressive. The main attraction of the Tour de Ski 2013 is a large snow igloo, where the action takes place on both days of the competition. On Thursday the Bergdiamanten will perform, while on Friday world-famous DJs will heat up the partygoers at the Ö3 Disco.
