Kowalczyk and Kardin triumph in the Gsieser Valley

Thousands of athletes will compete in the prestigious Gsieser Tal Run this weekend. On Saturday the races took place in classic technique over 42 and 30 kilometers. In the best conditions, two favorites took the winners over the long distance.

In the men's race, Swedish marathon specialist Oskar Kardin was unbeatable and took victory in 1:51.05,7 hours. Second place went to Mauro Brigadoi from Fiemme Valley (+36 seconds), who won the race in 2017. Francesco Ferrari took third place (+1.58,9). Manuel Amhof from Niederdorf ended up in fourth place as the best South Tyrolean, 2.37,3:XNUMX minutes behind.

In the women's race, Justyna Kowalczyk from Poland was unbeatable and celebrated a confident victory. The 2010 and 2014 Olympic champion won her first participation in the Gsieser Valley Run in 2:04.09,4 hours, making her 17 minutes faster than last year's winner Franziska Müller. Third place went to Asia Patini.
