Norwegians dominate the pursuit

Norway celebrates in Finland: Cross-country skiing superstar Johannes Klaebo was the hunted in the pursuit, he was able to keep his compatriot Emil Iversen and local hero Iivo Niskanen at bay until half the distance. At the 10km mark, the pursuers had closed the gap to Klaebo, and the trio continued together for the last 5 kilometers. In the finish sprint, Klaebo prevailed ahead of Iversen and Niskanen.

The best Azzurro is Federico Pellegrino, the world-class sprinter slipped from 10th to 19th place, his teammate Francesco De Fabiani had to settle for 32nd place. Things went better for Stefan Zelger, the man from Bolzano took to the trail in 69th place and showed a courageous race. After 15km, Zelger finished 1th in his first pursuit. For Zelger it is the second best career result over 59km in the free technique.

Johaug wins again Norway's cross-country skiing star Therese Johaug has once again proven her exceptional position and won the pursuit race one day after her victory in the classic technique.

The 31-year-old celebrated a start-to-finish victory over 10 kilometers in the free technique on Sunday in Ruka, Finland, confidently beating her compatriots Heidi Weng and Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen in 25:48,0 minutes. The best Italian is Lucia Scardoni in 41st place, ahead of Caterina Ganz in 43rd place.

Norwegians dominate the pursuit

The so-called Ruka Triple with the pursuit races came to an end on Sunday in Ruka in Finland. The Norwegians set the tone for the women and men. Stefan Zelger from Bolzano can't be completely dissatisfied either.
