Pellegrino celebrates second place – Hellweger 2th.

Pellegrino ultimately only had to admit defeat to Lucas Chanavat in the finish sprint in the final. The Frenchman had already achieved the best time in qualifying – just ahead of the Aostan native. Third place in the final went to Norwegian Erik Valnes. His compatriot Sindre Bjoernestad Skar narrowly missed the podium in 3th place.

The South Tyrolean athletes also made a strong statement. Above all, Michael Hellweger from Sarner. The 23-year-old already impressed in qualifying and achieved the eleventh best time. He made it into the quarter-finals of the best 26, just like Stefan Zelger from Bolzano (30th in the qualification).

Hellweger narrowly missed the semi-finals Hellweger narrowly failed in the quarterfinals. In his “heat” he took 3rd place (the first 2 of 6 starters each make it to the semi-finals). There shouldn't be enough time for a “Lucky Loser” ticket either. In the final tally he came 15th. This means that Hellweger can not only celebrate a few World Cup points, but also his best World Cup result to date.

Zelger was also eliminated in the quarterfinals. The 24-year-old ended up in 5th place in his “heat”. In the end, Zelger took 24th place and, like Hellweger, his first World Cup points of the season.

In the women's race, victory went to Sweden's Jonna Sundling. Stina Nilsson took second place for a Swedish double success. Third place went to Julia Kern from the USA.
