Pellegrino also triumphs in Dresden – Hellweger makes it to the quarter-finals

After his World Cup victory in Davos Pellegrino couldn't be beaten in Dresden either. The favorite from the Aosta Valley relegated the Brits Andrew Young and Gleb Retivykh to second and third place in the final.

Michael Hellweger from Sarner made it to the quarterfinals of the best 30 at the city event in Dresden, which took place behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic. In the qualifying, Hellweger was able to convince in 8th place. In the quarter-finals, however, he missed the semi-finals in 4th place in his “heat”. In the end it was enough for 17th place.

Stefan Zelger from Bolzano missed qualifying for the quarter-finals in 46th place. This time, the 30-year-old was around 25 seconds short of 2th place. Fähndrich wins among the women The Swiss Nadine Fähndrich won the women's race ahead of Sophie Caldwell Hamilton from the USA and the Slovenian Anamarija Lampic. The Azzurra Lucia Scardoni made it to the final and ended up in 6th place.

The cross-country skiing nations Norway, Sweden and Finland had forgone the World Cup, including the Norwegian superstar Johannes Klaebo.
