Petter Northug wins mini tour and overall World Cup – Nöckler 13th.

The Norwegian Finn Haagen Krogh achieved the fastest time in the final race, but thanks to his accumulated lead, his compatriot Petter Northug's eleventh best time was enough to secure victory in the Swedish mini-tour. Northug won this in 34:54,6 minutes ahead of Krogh (+10,9) and Martin Johnsrud Sundby (+20,1).

Northug also won the three-way battle for the overall World Cup victory, where he prevailed with 1561 points ahead of the Russian Alexander Legkov (1381) and the Swiss Dario Cologna (1364).

The best “Azzurro” was Giorgio Di Centa, who impressed today with the fourth fastest time and finished the mini-tour in seventh place. Dietmar Nöckler, who was in seventh place after his strong performance on Saturday, fell six places back and finished the mini-tour in 13th place. Roland Clara finished 19th with the twelfth fastest time, while David Hofer had to settle for 45th place overall.

Di Centa also achieved the best Italian result in the overall World Cup ranking (eleventh). Roland Clara is in 17th place, David Hofer is in 38th place, and Dietmar Nöckler is in 40th place.

Petter Northug wins mini tour and overall World Cup – Nöckler 13th.

The 2012-13 World Cup season for cross-country skiing has come to an end. The last competition today was the men's 15 km pursuit race in free technique as part of the final mini tour in Sweden.
