The 7 kilometer long “Iconic Climb”, which led from Schluderbach to the finish, took the breath away of many, but not the Swede Emil Persson, whose superiority thwarted the attempts of the Norwegians Thomas Ødegaarden and Tord Asle Gjerdalen. Persson has four wins from four individual tests and seems unbeatable. In the women's race, Astrid Øyre Slind (NOR) today broke the winning streak of Ida Dahl, who finished third but still holds the lead in the overall Ski Classics rankings. She was also defeated by Emilie Fleten.

The men's race was lively from the start. Attempts by various runners to break away always caused excitement. The protagonists of the decisive action were the Norwegians Thomas Ødegaarden and Tord Asle Gjerdalen as well as the Swede Emil Persson, who decided to increase the pace 4 kilometers before the summit. In the last kilometer, Persson went on the attack and took his fourth victory in a row with a time of 1.38,31:9 hours. He beat the Norwegian Thomas Ødegaarden by XNUMX seconds, who was on the podium for the first time in the ski classics, and Tord Asle Gjerdalen in third place.

The seemingly invincible Persson commented at the finish: “I didn't expect this victory, but yesterday I felt like my body was in good shape. I thought the others would be faster, but I was able to keep up with them the whole time, so I'm very happy."

Øyre Slind stops Dahl show The women's race was just as spectacular and action-packed. At kilometer 21, a small group of seven athletes formed with the best athletes of the day, including the Norwegians Astrid Øyre Slind, Emilie Fleten and Anikken Gjerde Alnes and the Swedes Jenny Larsson and Ida Dahl. With 8,8 km to go the trio Øyre Slind, Fleten and Dahl broke away, with the latter losing contact shortly afterwards. The two Norwegians claimed victory and Astrid Øyre Slind was the first to sprint down the finish line after 1.55,52:XNUMX hours.

Astrid Øyre Slind: “It was difficult, I tried to gain a small advantage by running as fast as possible to get rid of my competitors. I tried a little harder not to give Ida too much hope. I love this climb and I think it's good for the ski classics to add variety with this type of race because it really is one of the most spectacular in the world." Her compatriot Emilie Fleten came second, while Ida Dahl, still wearing the leader's yellow jersey, climbed to the third step of the podium.

Slightly cloudy weather with a few rays of sunshine accompanied the Open race, which the Frenchman Bastien Poirrier won with a lead of 2.56 minutes over the German Max Olex, followed by Sadurni Boix Betriu. The tough climb for the women was dominated by the Czech Adéla Boudíková, the Austrian Anna Seebacher came second, 4.45 minutes behind, and Caterina Piller from the Robinson Trentino team came in a good third.
