Seiser Alm: Next cross-country skiing star tests positive

As the ski association announced at a press conference on Thursday, two-time Olympic champion Simen Hegstad Krüger also tested positive for the coronavirus, and it is almost impossible for the 28-year-old to compete at the Olympics. Krüger shared a room with Harald Østberg Amundsen until yesterday, Wednesday, so another case could arise. Both are in quarantine. Athletes who tested positive shortly before the Olympics (February 4th to 20th) must present a total of four negative PCR tests in order to be allowed to enter China.

Norway's cross-country skiers are considered very cautious during the pandemic and also refrained from competing last winter in order to minimize the risk of infection. There are now complications when traveling because the athletes are considered close contacts of the trainer who tested positive. It is now scheduled to go to China on January 31st, later than initially planned.
