Cross-country skiing: Notz surprises in eighth place at the “Oslo Marathon” - Cologna wins

Oslo (SID) Cross-country skier Florian Notz caused a surprise by finishing eighth in the traditional 50 km race in Oslo. The 25-year-old from Römerstein, who was not nominated for the Olympic Games, recorded by far his best result of the season in front of Norway's King Harald. Four-time Olympic champion Dario Cologna from Switzerland won the photo finish against Martin Johnsrud Sundby (Norway) after 2:01,48 hours. Notz finished just 25,9 seconds behind Cologna in a festival atmosphere in the woods around Holmenkollen and achieved the second-best World Cup result of his career. Jonas Dobler (Traunstein), who was exhausted from the Olympic "50s" in Pyeongchang shortly before the finish, rounded off the good German result in 20th place on the penultimate World Cup weekend. The Russian Maxim Wylegschanin took third place in the only “marathon” of the World Cup season. Norway's new cross-country skiing star Johannes Hösflot Kläbo (21), who decided not to start in the "50" in Pyeongchang after three gold medals, fell further and further behind after a fall and ultimately had to settle for 40th place. Lucas Bögl (Gaißach) ended the race early.
