A historic innovation in the premier Nordic discipline

Until now, Nordic combined was a men's domain, meaning jumping and running was only done by men. It was the only Winter Olympic sport in which there were no established women's competitions such as Women's World Cups or Women's World Championships. That will change from next season. The new World Cup calendar includes a total of 8 women's competitions. In contrast to the 30 men's races, that's not a lot, but it's definitely a start. The stages in Lillehammer, Otepää and Schonach are fixed so far, and another venue has yet to be determined.
