Rydzek wins in Fiemme Valley – Costa scores

With a real show of strength, the 27-year-old German won on Friday in Fiemme Valley after jumping from the large hill and a ten-kilometer run. Rydzek started the trail in fifth place and only distanced himself from his competition in the last 1000 meters. The Olympic champion from Pyeongchang beat Norwegian Joergen Graabak and Mario Seidl from Austria and redeemed the DSV athletes after almost two winless months of the season.

Pittin narrowly misses the top 10 The best “Azzurro” was Alesandro Pittin in 11th place. The strong cross-country skier had previously entered the trail in 25th place. Samuel Costa from Wolkenstein crossed the finish line in 21st place. After jumping, Costa was in 22nd place. The 26-year-old stayed in a group with Alessandro Pittin for a long time on the cross-country ski trail, but had to pay some tribute to the high pace on the last lap.

The second best South Tyrolean in Fiemme Valley was Aaron Kostner in 36th place. It was the first World Cup start for the 19-year-old this season. Manuel Maierhofer from Ortisei finished the race in 42nd place. Lukas Runggaldier was not there on Friday because he failed in the qualification.
