Seidl is the first Austrian to win the “Nordic Triple”

Seidl was the first Austrian to secure overall victory in the “Nordic Triple” of the Nordic Combined World Cup. The 26-year-old from Salzburg triumphed in the sixth edition, after the final on Sunday with two jumps and a 15 km cross-country run 25,6 seconds, ahead of the German Fabian Rießle and 33,7 ahead of his compatriot Franz-Josef-Rehrl.

Rehrl won the first two competitions, each with a jump and a 5 and 10 km run. Seidl was fifth there. In the final, however, he showed the best jumps and saved almost a third of his lead over Rießle to the finish. This is his second World Cup victory after Ruka, which Seidl also achieved in this year's home World Cup season.

The best “Azzurro” was Samuel Costa in 21st place. The Wolkensteiner had previously entered the cross-country ski trail in 25th place. Costa crossed the finish line in 21st place on Saturday. Cross-country skiing specialist Alessandro Pittin finished the weekend in 24th place (28th after jumping). Lukas Runggaldier was unable to qualify for the final competition.
