Bolzano wins 2-0 in Milan and climbs to second place in the table

In the well-filled Agorà Stadium (over 2500 spectators), two teams that are currently playing in top form faced each other. The Lombards came from seven wins in the last eight championship rounds, and Bolzano was even undefeated for nine games in the championship and the Continental Cup. The record champions were missing the ailing defender Hannes Oberdörfer and striker Christian Walcher, while Milan's coach Da Rin was able to make full use of their resources.

Both teams started very cautiously. The home side had the first opportunity when, after a commotion in front of Duba's goal, Caletti cleared his strike partner Diego Iori, but he hesitated for too long and was ultimately denied by the Bolzano goalkeeper. Milan then increased the pressure, but Bolzano stood securely in defense and waited for counterattack opportunities. In the 10th minute, captain Alexander Egger released a through ball to Enrico Dorigatti, who shot over the Milan goal alone in front of Raycroft. Just a minute later, Markus Gander broke through on the left and then passed in the middle to Marco Insam, who made it 1-0. A lucky goal, because a Milan defender directed the puck into his own goal with his skate, unstoppable for Raycroft. The Lombards reacted immediately, but missed a huge opportunity to equalize with their parade storm. Again it was Iori who was unable to capitalize on a pass from Caletti.

14th goal of the season for Ryan Flynn The middle third began with a penalty against Niklas Hjalmarsson. Tommaso Migliore had the advantage to make it 1-1, but shot at Duba. Bozen then played with great concentration and took command. In the 27th minute, Knackstedt and Liffiton had to go to the penalty box almost at the same time and the white and red double advantage increased to 16-2 after just 0 seconds. Raycroft couldn't hold on to a shot from Egger and Ryan Flynn made the save. It was the 24th goal of the season for the 14-year-old American. In the 31st minute, the home team had five field players on the ice against three Bozen players (Flynn and Insam were in the cooler), but were unable to use the power play. Kinasewich missed the best chance after a wonderful pass from Migliore.

In the final third, the record champions controlled the game, Milan only played with two lines of attack, but were never dangerous. Two minutes before the end of the game, Da Rin put everything on one card, taking goalkeeper Raycroft off the ice for a sixth skater, but to no avail. Bolzano won safely 2-0 and celebrated its first win of the season against Milan. It was the second shutout for Tomas Duba.

Bozen has to take to the ice again in two days and will face the old champions in the Olympic Stadium in Cortina. It is the ninth game in 16 days for the white and reds.

Bolzano wins 2-0 in Milan and climbs to second place in the table

HC Bozen won the catch-up game of the 20th championship round in Milan with 2-0 goals on Tuesday evening and climbed to second place in the table with this victory. The people of Bolzano are now six points behind league leaders Pustertal and are one point ahead of Ritten and Alleghe.
