That was the strangest toboggan race of the season

The finale of the artificial track toboggan season is currently taking place in Oberhof. And the men's race became a curious tactical show for the world's best athletes. In the end, a Latvian came out on top.

There is also tact in the toboggan circus, but rarely when it comes to the fastest time. Things were different on Sunday in Oberhof. Because the temperatures were so warm that the ice track resembled a water slide, the best tobogganers slowed down (!) in rows in the first run. The reason: They wanted to secure a better starting number for the final.

Dominik Filehner also took part in the braking show and was in 22nd place at halftime. The South Tyrolean had done everything right, even if in the end it wasn't enough for an absolute top place. Fischler finished the race in 6th place. The victory went to Kristers Aparjods. The Latvian was in 1th place after the first round. David Gleirscher made an even bigger leap forward. The Austrian raced up from 17rd to 23rd place. Max Langenhan (3./GER) completed the podium. By the way: The Swede Svante Kohala, who was leading at the break, finished the competition in 2th place.

There was another top 10 place for South Tyrol's tobogganers. Leon Felderer ended up in 9th place. Alex Gufler was 23rd.
