This weekend's stop in Altenberg will be followed by the stop in Oberhof, Germany (February 9th to 10th), which is also the venue for the European Championships, and the season finale in Sochi, Russia on February 23rd to 24th.

The head coach of the “Azzurri”, Armin Zöggeler, is foregoing the World Cup in Altenberg and will instead attend the Junior World Championships in Innsbruck-Igls (February 1st to 2nd). The South Tyrolean defending doubles champions, Ivan Nagler/Fabian Malleier, are no longer eligible to compete due to their age.

The World Cup station in Altenberg begins on Saturday morning (09 a.m.) with the doubles. From a South Tyrolean perspective, Ludwig Rieder and Patrick Rastner are the hottest prospects for a top placement. The young duo Nagler/Malleier finished sixth in Altenberg last year and hopes to confirm this result. On Saturday at 16.30:XNUMX p.m. the women will go to the ice track.
