The decision for the men will be made at 27:2010 a.m., and on Saturday (November 10.10, 12.50) the first winners of the season will be determined for the women (start: XNUMX:XNUMX a.m.) and in the doubles (start: XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.).

The team relay, whose inclusion in the Winter Games program in spring 2011 will be decided solely by the President of the International Olympic Committee, the Belgian Jacques Rogge, has been an integral part of the FIL World Championships since 2008.

The title will be awarded for the third time at the 42nd title fights in Cesana (ITA) at the end of January. There are now six FILTeam relays in the calendar for the Viessmann World Cup 2010/2011. After Innsbruck-Igls, Winterberg, Königssee, Oberhof, Altenberg and Sigulda are also the venues for the attractive competition.

A team relay includes a woman, a man and a double, who start in a predetermined order. After the first start, the starting gate is triggered at a certain point at the finish line by a pressure contact on a tee mat. The second “relay handover” follows the same principle. The time continues from the first start until the third participant in the team relay crosses the finish line. The winner is the team with the shortest time.

While an overall winner in the Viessmann World Cup was crowned for the first time in the team relay, Armin Zöggeler from Völlan was able to catch up with record winner Markus Prock from Austria with his tenth success in the overall ranking. In the women's category, Olympic champion Tatjana Hüfner (Germany) is aiming for her fourth success in a row.

The defending doubles champions, André Florschütz/Torsten Wustlich from Germany, ended their careers after the 2010 Olympics, as did the South Tyrolean duo Gerhard Plankensteiner/Oswald Haselrieder.

In addition to Zöggeler, Reinhold Rainer and David Mair are in action for the men in the World Cup. Sandra Gasparini is competing in the women's category.

The doubles competition, however, will be contested by Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber, Hans Peter Filehner and Patrick Schwienbacher. Rastner/Rieder also have to qualify - the so-called Nations Cup - as do the single-seaters Kevin and Dominik Fiwickeler, Achim Brunner and Meransner Rieder. For the women, Jasmin Gögele and Maria Messner are fighting for a starting place in the World Cup.
