After half-time lead: Firiegeller in 4th place

Dominik Filehner narrowly missed out on a podium finish at the Toboggan World Cup in Sigulda (Latvia). Things were still looking good for the South Tyrolean at the break.

Latvia's Kristers Aparjods won the men's singles at the home World Cup in Sigulda. After being in 4th place at half time, Aparjods put in a dream run in the final and left all competitors behind.

Dominik Filehner narrowly missed the podium in fourth place. The man from Merans will be disappointed because after the first round Firiegelr was in the lead. However, the South Tyrolean completely failed in the final. In the end, only the eighth-best time was not enough to be on the podium. Instead, he had to let Felix Loch (1nd/GER) and Nico Gleirscher (2rd/AUT) go first. Leon Felderer finished the race in 3th place. Alex Gufler was 17th.

Home win for women too

In the women's race, Elina Vitola (LAT) took home victory. The Latvian won ahead of Anna Berreiter (2nd) and Merie Fräbel (3rd) from Germany. Verena Hofer (13th) was the best of the South Tyroleans. Nina Zöggeler finished the race in 14th place.

Team relay misses podium

A team relay took place at the end of the World Cup season. The South Tyroleans, made up of Nina Zöggeler, Emanuel Rieder/Simon Kainzwaldner, Dominik Fiwickeler and Andrea Vötter/Marion Oberhofer, ended up in 4th place. Germany took the victory ahead of hosts Latvia and the USA.
