Nailers and malleers create a small sensation

The 18-year-old Ivan Nagler from Val Badia and Fabian Malleier from Völlan, who is one year older, are competing in their first full season in the World Cup and have not yet made a major appearance in the world's best racing series. The two sledders' greatest success so far was the bronze medal at the Junior European Championships. In the second round, the two South Tyroleans performed similarly well and secured sixth place in the end. Nobody had expected this result beforehand.

The other two South Tyrolean duos missed out on a top ten placement. The runners-up from Innsbruck, Ludwig Rieder and Patrick Rastner, took 13th place, while the experienced Christian Oberstolz and Patrick Gruber had to settle for 17th place.

The number one tobogganing nation once again dominated the top: The Germans Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken won ahead of the Austrian duo Penz/Fischler and Geueke/Gramm, also from Germany.
