Oberstolz/Gruber just missed the podium - Fischnelllers caught up

The two “oldies” Oberstolz/Gruber can still do it! With fourth place, the Pusterers made a big statement - also because they were ultimately only 4 thousandths of a second short of the podium. Oberstolz/Gruber, who had to go through the qualifications this time, were still in seventh place after the first round, but then went one better and finally achieved their best result of the season.

The race was won, how could it be otherwise, by the German duo Eggert/Benecken. It was the fifth triumph for the Germans this season. The Austrians Penz/Fischler came closest to the winners, third place went to the Canadians Walker/Snith. Rieder/Rastner took 10th place, while Gruber/Kainzwaldner landed in 10th place.

Single-seater: Dominik Filehner comes 9th. Just a few hours after the doubles competition, the athletes were also in action in the singles. After a weak first run, the two cousins Dominik and Kevin Fischnelller showed improvement in the second run: one raced from 15th place to 9th place, the other ultimately ended up in 16th place after 11th place. Emanuel Rieder came 16th.

Russia, on the other hand, was able to celebrate a double victory: Roman Repilov prevailed ahead of compatriot Semen Pavlichenko. The American Tucker West came third.
