Olympics 2026: Construction of the ice track is on the brink

For South Tyrol's tobogganers and bobsleigh athletes it would be bad news, for others it would be a triumph. The construction of the Olympic ice track in Cortina d'Ampezzo is on the brink.

Cortina belongs to the Veneto region, and its president Luca Zaia no longer wants to have anything to do with the construction of this railway.

It's a tragedy with such a discussion. If our winter sport is no longer worth anything with such glorious athletes in tobogganing, starting with Olympic champions, medalists, world champions, etc., then there will no longer be a need for a football field in Italy. Because if just one stadium is renovated, in Milan, Rome, or Naples, which costs €50.000.000, then everyone says GREAT.
Every NATION in the toboggan league that is at the top has a track. Unfortunately, they run without debt.
The whole world doesn't understand what happened in Cesana and has never happened before.
I understand why Zaia says he wants to relocate to Igls, because he would like the money for rich Venice. The fact is that our athletes do very little
Having training potential on other tracks is also logical, competition.
In any case, I'm definitely in favor of one of our trains.
