South Tyrolean medal at the start of the World Cup in Oberhof

The European champions Andrea Vötter and Marion Oberhofer have demonstrated their top form in the women's doubles. The South Tyrolean duo raced to bronze with a time of 31,228 seconds. The Germans Jessica Degenhardt/Cheyenne Rosenthal took victory (31,205 seconds). The Austrians Selina Egle/Lara Kipp took second place (31,221). The second South Tyrolean duo, Nadia Falkensteiner/Annalena Huber (4th), narrowly missed a medal. Vötter/Oberhofer's medal win is by no means a surprise. You have been leading the overall World Cup in women's doubles for weeks and have already won three races this year. On Saturday they will be reaching for the next medals in the Thuringian Forest when the original competition takes place over two rounds. In the men's doubles sprint race, the German home team achieved the double success they had hoped for: The Thuringian local heroes Toni Eggert/Sascha Beneken won in 26,195 seconds, just ahead of Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt, who needed 26,238 seconds. The South Tyroleans Emanuel Rieder/Simon Kainzwaldner (26.421) landed in fifth place, Ludwig Rieder/Patrick Rastner (26,613) were ninth. The German lugers secured a quadruple triumph in the sprint in the women's singles. With just a thousandth of a second lead, Dajana Eitberger secured the first world title of her career on her home track. The Thuringian needed 26,204 seconds. Julia Taubitz (26,205) came second ahead of Anna Berreiter (26,232). Merle Fräbel (26,248) narrowly missed the bronze medal. The South Tyroleans Sandra Robatscher (13.) and Verena Hofer (14th) missed a top placement. Fischnitzer misses out on precious metal In the men's single-seater, the German Felix Loch won the world championship title in the sprint. The Austrian Jonas Müller came second, ahead of Max Langenhahn (Germany). Dominik Filehner missed a medal relatively clearly in seventh place on Friday. The other South Tyroleans, Leon Felderer and Luke Gufler , took places 13 and 15.
