South Tyroleans with no chance of winning a medal – the favorite falls badly

Taubitz falls badly There were moments of shock in the second run when co-favorite Julia Taubitz crashed in turn 2. The 13-year-old German slid to the finish in a prone position with the sled on her back. Since she crossed the finish line with sports equipment, she was also counted, but as 25th, 13 seconds behind her leading compatriot, she no longer has a chance of winning a medal. Taubitz, who was still in the lead after the first run, fortunately remained uninjured. Co-favorite Madeleine Egle also demonstrated how challenging the 1475 meter long track is. The 23-year-old from North Tyrol crashed in turn 1 in the first run and lost a lot of time.
