Taubitz secures the overall World Cup early

Julia Taubitz from Germany won the overall World Cup early on Saturday in Sigulda, Latvia. Meanwhile, there was nothing to gain for South Tyrol's tobogganers.

Victory went to the German Anna Berreiter ahead of the Latvian local hero Elina Vitola. With 3rd place, Taubitz secured her 2rd overall World Cup in a row just 3 races before the end of the season, as her biggest competitor Madeleine Egle couldn't get past 14th place. It was the worst result of the season for the North Tyrolean.

There was nothing to gain for South Tyrol's bobsledders. Verena Hofer narrowly missed the top 11 in 10th place. After the first round, the woman from Feldthurn was in 10th place. Nina Zöggeler from Völlan finished the race in 18th place.
