NORDIC COMBINATION: Norwegian Nordic combined athlete Jarl Magnus Riiber also won the second of three races in Otepää, Estonia. The 26-year-old celebrated his 70th World Cup victory on Saturday. After a jump of 98 meters, he entered the trail in third place, 10 seconds behind local hero Kristjan Ilves (97 meters). In the finish sprint, Riiber prevailed with a lead of 0,4 seconds over the Estonian. The Austrian Johannes Lamparter (+3,2 seconds) came third ahead of his compatriot Stefan Rettenegger (+6,8 seconds), who set a hill record with 102,5 meters. Samuel Costa ran in 28th place (+2.16,9:2.26,2 minutes), while Aaron Kostner (+33:34 minutes) ran in 2.38,4rd place, just leaving Raffaele Buzzi (44th/+3.43,7:XNUMX minutes) behind. The fourth Azzurro Domenico Mariotti was XNUMXth (+XNUMX:XNUMX minutes).

SKI JUMPING: Ski flying world champion Stefan Kraft clearly missed his 38th victory in the Ski Jumping World Cup on Saturday in Lake Placid after leading at halftime. After a 127-5 m set in the second round, the Austrian only managed 104 meters, which meant he only ended up in 24th place. The North Tyrolean Clemens Aigner had a similar experience as he came second at the half, with a final 108,5 meters only reaching 22nd place. The Slovenian Lovro Kos won for the first time in his career ahead of Ryoyu Kobayashi (Japan) and Marius Lindvik (Norway).

There was also a sense of success for the Azzurri, who, with Giovanni Bresadola (8) from Trentino and Alex Insam (12) from South Tyrol, flew into the top 23 with two jumpers for the first time in 12 years. For Bresadola it was his best career result, while Insam managed to catch up after finishing 23rd in the first round.

ARTISTIC TRACK TOBOGGANING: About a week ago, Verena Hofer from Feldthurns in Altenberg (Germany) found herself in first position after the second round, but ultimately had to settle for 13th place. The picture was repeated on Saturday afternoon. Hofer was in second place at halftime, but the increasingly slowing track and a suboptimal run meant that the South Tyrolean luger was once again outside the top 10. She came 14th (+0,629). Despite the difficult conditions, the leader after the first run took victory: Merle Fräbel from Germany.

Second place went to Madeleine Egle from Austria (+0,124 seconds), while Julia Taubitz (+0,152) from Germany completed the podium. In addition to Hofer, the second South Tyrolean Nina Zöggeler finished in 15th place (+0,780), only one place behind her colleague, who slipped from second place to 2th place. Andrea Vötter and Marion Oberhofer came in second in the doubles.
