The European champion celebrated a double victory at the World Cup opener in Winterleiten and from then on never gave up the yellow jersey of the World Cup leader. After the World Cup final, Scheikl held on to 490 points, second place was taken by Villandro's Alex Gruber (430 points), and third place was taken by Patrick Pigneter from Völs (430 points).

Because Gruber and Pigneter each have two second places, two third places and two fourth places, the result of the final counts. Pigneter was left behind in fourth place. “I have to honestly say, I'm speechless. With the overall victory, a childhood dream has come true for me. I've been on the toboggan for 24 years or so, holding this crystal ball in my hands is an indescribable feeling," beamed Scheikl after the World Cup final and added: "I will set up this ball at home in a place where I can do it countless times every day pass by so that I can remember this success every time.”

With his fourth win of the season, North Tyrolean Thomas Kammerlander fought his way up to fourth place in the overall standings. The direction for the World Cup starting on Friday in my home village of Umhausen is right,” said Kammerlander, who recently won the overall World Cup four times in a row. With the maximum of 600 points, Lanthaler secured her fifth victory in the overall World Cup (2015/2016, 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020 and 2020/2021). Greta Pinggera (495 points) and Tina Unterberger (375 points) follow in honorable places. With second place in the finale, Unterberger moved past Daniela Mittermair (356), who had been in third place from the start of the season, in the overall ranking. “It wasn't an easy race today, you just see that you can never let up. The girls are very fast and are waiting for their chance,” said Lanthaler after her 32nd World Cup victory.

Doubles: First win of the season for Porshnev/Lazarev Just in time for the 2021 World Championships in Umhausen, Pavel Porshnev/Ivan Lazarev are in top form. The nations ranking was won by Italy (4560 points) ahead of Austria (3716) and Russia (2036). A total of 13 nations made it into the World Cup points.
