Pigneter for 11th: Overall World Cup goes to Völs

He won the sixth and final race of the season ahead of Patrick Pigneter from Fiè, who secured his eleventh overall World Cup victory with second place. Alex Gruber from Villandro comes third. In the women's race, Greta Pinggera wins her first World Cup race. The 21-year-old from Laas dominated the qualification and set the second fastest time in the decisive race. The fastest on Saturday evening is Ekaterina Lavrentyeva. The Russian moves up to third place. Third place went to the overall World Cup winner Evelin Lanthaler from Passeir, who finished each of the six World Cup races on the natural track in the top three. Patrick Pigneter and Florian Clara won the doubles competition. The two Italians won every World Cup race in the 2015/16 season and created a “perfect season” on the natural track. Second place goes to Russians Pavel Porshnev and Ivan Lazarev. Local heroes Christoph Regensburger and Dominik Holzknecht from Austria came third. In the team competition, too, the South Tyrolean tobogganers, Alex Gruber, Greta Pinggera and the doubles Pigneter/Clara, left nothing to be desired and confidently took victory ahead of Russia and Austria.
