On the 940 meter long Winterleiten track in Styria, the young sledders from South Tyrol fought a hundredths-thriller for the day's victory. After the first run, Fabian Brunner and Hannes Unterholzner were in first place at the same time. Daniel Gruber and Anton Gruber Genetti followed closely behind in third place. In the decisive second round, Brunner's second-best running time was enough to win the day. With a total time of 2.03,83:17 minutes, the 0,31-year-old was 0,36 seconds ahead of Unterholzner and 1,10 seconds ahead of Gruber, who secured third place with the best time in the second run, ahead of Gruber Genetti (+1,94 seconds). . In the junior women's race, Lisa Walch (GER) celebrated an easy opening victory. The reigning junior world champion ran the fastest time in both rounds and won clearly in 2.05,80:0,97 minutes ahead of Riccarda Ruez (AUT), who was 1,06 seconds behind Walch at the finish. Sarah Schiller (GER) secured third place, XNUMX seconds behind the winner.

In the doubles, the day's victory went to the South Tyrolean Anton Gruber Genetti/Hannes Unterholzner in 1.06,63:0,25 minutes, just ahead of the local heroes Maximilian Pichler/Dominik Peter Maier (AUT/+1,26 seconds). The brothers Bine Mekina/Blaz Mekina (SLO) took third place, XNUMX seconds behind.

At the start of the FIL Junior World Cup in luge on natural track, a total of 40 boys and 30 girls from 12 nations took part in perfect conditions, and eight sleds from seven nations took part in the doubles.
