The new date for the title fights on the Grantau-Bahn in Tyrol is now Friday, February 12th to Sunday, February 14th, 2021. Everything was actually set up in Umhausen for a sports festival of superlatives for the coming weekend. However, the heavy rainfall of the past few days and the temperatures that are far too warm for this time of year have softened the Grantau Railway to such an extent that it is out of the question to hold fair competitions in the next few days. Lasa World Cup will be brought forward The local organizing committee around OK boss Hansjörg Posch and Bruno Kammerlander, chairman of the organizing SV Umhausen, together with the international toboggan association FIL, immediately looked for a solution - and found it. This now stipulates that the World Cup in Laas will be brought forward and take place from Monday, February 8th to Thursday, February 11th. Immediately afterwards, the World Championship will be held in Umhausen from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th February. “We have to bow to the weather” “We were well prepared, but now we have to bow to the weather. It's a shame, but that's just how it is when you organize an outdoor sporting event. We reacted immediately and were able to find a solution that, in our opinion, was good and fair for the athletes with the postponement,” explain Hansjörg Posch and Bruno Kammerlander. The organizers have already worked out the new World Championship competition program, which will now be held on three instead of four competition days, in collaboration with those responsible at the FIL. The title fights in luge on natural track start on Friday, February 12th with the national training. On Saturday, February 13th, the new world champion in the women's singles will be crowned from 10.30:11.30 a.m., while the final run of the doubles will begin at 14:11.30 a.m. Sunday, February 13.30th, however, will be dedicated to the decision in the men's singles (final from XNUMX:XNUMX a.m.) and the team competition (XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.).
