1st podium for Francesca Marsaglia

On Saturday the race was from the very top, unlike the race on Friday. Because of the fresh snow from last night, the piste workers had their hands full, so the start of the second downhill run of the season had to be postponed by 2 minutes.

Friday's winner, Ester Ledecká, took to the track with start number 2 and showed a very courageous, although not entirely error-free, ride. A little later, the winner of the 2018/19 Downhill World Cup, Nicole Schmidhofer (AUT), was able to displace the Czech from first place. Lake Louise 1 downhill winner Mikaela Shiffrin had a great ride. The slalom queen was on her way to a superior best time, but from the steep slope onwards the leader in the overall World Cup made a few mistakes, so the American came in second, just behind Schmidhofer. The last runner in the top group was Olympic champion Sofia Goggia Start number 2017 took to the track, but the 2-year-old from Bergamo made an unusually large number of serious mistakes and had to settle for 19th place in the end.
