3 South Tyroleans at home double at Kronplatz

The Erta slope in St. Vigil in Enneberg is one of the most difficult giant slalom routes in the women's circus. This year there are two races taking place here because Kronplatz is taking over the canceled giant slalom in Spindleruv Mlyn (Czech Republic). There is no real top favorite. There are too many winning runners in this discipline.

Marta Bassino, Mikaela Shiffrin and Lara Gut-Behrami are certainly worth mentioning. The Italian will open the first giant slalom on Monday. Afterwards comes her teammate Federica Brignone. The three South Tyroleans, Elisa Platino (number 42), Karoline Pichler (55) and Laura Steinmair (56), arrive much later. There are a total of eight Azzurre at Kronplatz. The others are Roberta Melesi (30), Asja Zenere (31) and Laura Pirovano (57), who will finish the first run on Tuesday.

From a South Tyrolean perspective, hopes rest primarily on Elisa Platino. The 24-year-old from Meran recently scored her first World Cup points in Kranjska Gora with places 23 and 16. Let's see if these successes have given her confidence for the home races. Pichler has been on speed skis more recently and has already scored points four times this year. At Kronplatz four years ago, the Petersberg woman was a strong 16th. And 22-year-old Laura Steinmair is taking part in the World Cup for the second time after the premiere in Kranjska Gora at Kronplatz.
