There was an Italian victory at the third edition of the Alpine Rockfest in Andalo: Davide Simoncelli from Trentino beat his young teammate Luca De Aliprandini and the Norwegian Aksel Lund Svindal and secured a whopping 70.000 euros in prize money. The only South Tyrolean at the start, Florian Eisath, was eliminated in the second round. Defending champion and favorite Ted Ligety fell in the final.
