Adelboden: The sensationalists are showing nerves

De Aliprandini from Nonsberg, who attended the sports high school in Mals as a youth and speaks perfect German, was in the lead at halftime of the classic on the Chuenisbärgli. Even more sensational, however, was the second place of Giovanni Borsotti, who moved up to second place with number 53. However, the two Azzurri showed nerves in the decision: Borsotti made a mistake and ended up 2th. De Aliprandini, on the other hand, showed a very strong performance and was on his way to victory before he slipped in the middle section and was eliminated. It would have been the first podium finish ever for both Borsotti and De Aliprandini.

Zan Kranjec took the win. The Slovenian, who was still in 6th place after the first round, turned up the heat in the decision, took full risks and conjured up the best time in the Swiss snow. For the 27-year-old it was the second World Cup victory of his career. There was a surprise in second place, which was taken by Croatian Filip Zubcic. For the 2-year-old it was the first podium finish of his career.

Third place is shared by the Frenchman Victor Muffat-Jeandet and the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen, who are 0,64 seconds behind. Kristoffersen took back the lead in the overall World Cup from Alexis Pinturault (he finished tenth on Saturday).

The best South Tyrolean was Riccardo Tonetti in 16th place. This meant that the man from Bolzano lost a few places after he was still in 11th place at half time. For Manfred Mölgg, however, the race ended tragically: he accidentally twisted his knee - a serious injury is feared ( SportNews berichtete ). Simon Maurberger and Hannes Zingerle were unable to qualify for the second round.
