A camera team followed the exceptional athlete for four years - from the momentous fall in Kitzbühel to the downhill silver medal at the World Championships in Åre, which ended Svindal's glorious career in the best possible way. In addition to Svindal, who has already retired, his teammates also appear in the film. Kjetil Jansrud is one of them and says: “It's good that the film comes from someone who has followed us for a long time. It might seem megalomaniacal to make a film about yourself. But after following us closely for a long time, the team saw that there was great potential for an exciting vision.”

Accordingly, filming began in 2015. Among other things, the documentary shows how Svindal fought back after his knee operation in January 2017 and won downhill gold at the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang. After the procedure, neither Svindal nor the film director would have expected such a happy ending.

“There were special days in Kitzbühel 2019 when Aksel decided to end his career. We sat in his apartment for almost a whole day, he was silent and thought about what to do, but we realized that something was going on - something that the film reflects," says Filip Christensen, Svindal's long-time companion. No further details about the film are known - only that it will be released on January 29th and is absolutely worth seeing for all Svindal fans.
