Alex Hofer grabs a medal

The Castelrotto native won the silver medal in the Alpine Combined. The 27-year-old giant slalom specialist now has four medals at the Italian Championships, having already won silver in 2019 (slalom and giant slalom) and in February 2022 (giant slalom). Hofer actually finished the race in third place. Because the winner of the combination – Erik Read – comes from Canada, he is not included in the final tally of the Italian Championship. Gold therefore went to Giovanni Borsotti, who was already in a strong 3rd place after the first part, i.e. the Super-G, and was able to move forward in the slalom. Hofer's jump was more significant, as he was still in 7th place at halftime, but gained several positions during his dance in the pole forest. Kastlunger and Ploner are convincing Tobias Kastlunger, however, narrowly missed out on a medal. Although the slalom specialist was in 6th place after the speed part and therefore had an ideal starting position, he was not able to make the big splash in his flagship discipline and is in fourth place in the adjusted ranking. The performance of Manuel Ploner from Val Badia is also worth mentioning: he started the race with start number 67, finished 20th in the Super-G and worked his way up to 7th place in the slalom. However, Christof Innerhofer was not at the start. The Pusterer speed specialist won the Super-G in the morning and skipped the slalom part in the afternoon.
