Everything is the same in the women's slalom - no South Tyrolean in the second run

Mikaela Shiffrin leads, followed - at a respectful distance - by Wendy Holdener and Frida Hansdotter. While the Swiss is 65 hundredths behind, the third-placed Swede is already over eight tenths of a second behind. Fourth is another local hero, Melanie Meillard. By the way: If Shiffrin finishes at least second today, the American will already have the Slalom World Cup ball in her pocket.

Velez Zuzulova celebrates miraculous comeback

While a cruciate ligament tear was an absolute horror injury just a few years ago, regeneration times are now becoming increasingly shorter. The latest example is Slovakian Veronika Velez Zuzulova. Four months ago she injured her knee and tore a cruciate ligament. Now the former top slalom runner has made her comeback. Velez Zuzulova really wants to go to the Olympics. The Slovakian association has guaranteed her a permanent starting place. She will also carry the Eastern European flag at the opening ceremony in South Korea.

Costazza is out - Mölgg won't start

While Chiara Costazza was out, Irene Curtoni is already over two and a half seconds behind the leader Shiffrin. The remaining “Azzurre”, including Vivien Insam from Val Gardena, are no longer taking part in the second run. While Insam was out, Mölgg didn't even start. The second round begins at 12.15 p.m.
