Anna Veith resigns: “My dreams have changed”

The three-time Austrian Sportswoman of the Year announced this step just four weeks before her 31st birthday. “The dreams I have for the future have changed. That’s why I want to end my active skiing career,” said Veith. “It feels 100 percent right” Anna Veith The decision wasn't that difficult for her. “It feels 100 percent right to me. Veith leaves the future open Veith is looking forward to her private life and what is to come: “I feel liberated, a certain weight has been lifted off my shoulders,” she said after the announcement. “All my life I was able to call ski racing my profession. I have never done anything else. I have never loved anything else so much. The smell of fresh snow. The early morning hours on the glacier. The team. I'll miss all of that. I don’t know what’s next, but I’m looking forward to it.”
