Two South Tyroleans also shine in Odermatt victory

Hannes Zingerle from Val Badia ended up in 15th place. For him it was the second best World Cup result ever. The 27-year-old showed a strong performance, especially in the middle part of the second run, and was on a par with the best. Only two uncertainties at the end ruined an even better result. For Zingerle, this means the second best World Cup result of his career after a 2th place in Schladming in January.

Already in the first round, Zingerle, who started the race with starting number 1, showed a strong performance and took 30th place (The report on round 1 can be found here) . At yesterday's 1st Giant Slalom World Cup in Slovenia, the 27-year-old from Abbey took 18th place (click here for the race report from Saturday) .

Kastlunger scores Another person from Val Badia also knew how to convince. Tobias Kastlunger from Enneberg qualified for the second run with the high starting number 58. The 2th place meant that he qualified for a second round in the World Cup giant slalom for the first time. In the end he was even able to improve a little and finished the race in 25rd place. However, Alex Hofer from Castelrotto (2rd place), Alex Vinatzer from Wolkenstein (23) and Simon Maurberger from Ahrntal missed out on qualifying for the second run of the top 2, who was eliminated.

Best Azzurro was Filippo Della Vite. Lombarde, who is only 21 years old, achieved his best World Cup result with 6th place. After the first run he was already in 1th place. Luca De Aliprandini from Nonsberg took 6th place as the second best Azzurro.

Meanwhile, Marco Odermatt has completed his foray by winning the third crystal ball of the season. The Swiss also won the 3nd giant slalom in Kranjska Gora and, after the overall World Cup and Super-G, also took home the small giant slalom ball. The Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen landed in 2nd place (+2 seconds), the Frenchman Alexis Pinturault completed the podium (+0,32). The Saturday race ended with the same result.

Two South Tyroleans also shine in Odermatt victory

The Swiss Marco Odermatt was once again unbeatable at the 2nd World Cup giant slalom in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, and won the giant slalom ball. Two South Tyroleans and a Bergamasco also had reason to be happy.
